Visual artist for Knife Party confirmed as casualty in Oakland warehouse fire

The tragic warehouse fire that occurred in Oakland, California December 2 is confirmed to have taken the life of VJ Jonathan Bernbaum, among at least 30 others. Bernbaum was a well-known visual artist in the electronic community, most notable for creating stunning visuals for Knife Party.

In a series of tweets, Knife Party’s Rob Swire confirmed that Bernbaum was providing visuals for the Ghost Ship event the night of the tragedy. He goes on to lament Bernbaum’s passing and praises his artistic acuity along with the work he created for Knife Party.

As news of Bernbaums passing spread, other artists and associates issued condolences on social media.

Investigators are still combing the site of the fire and the death toll is still expected to rise.
