Former Death Row Records owner Marion “Suge” Knight has finally left jail, however, it’s only temporary. The jailed music mogul is reportedly receiving medical treatment.
According to reports, Knight is under a doctor’s supervision due to health issues.
Suge Knight is back in the hospital for a condition that has been dogging him for 2 years … blood clots. We’re told Suge — who’s facing murder charges for running over someone in 2015 at Tam’s Burgers in Compton — is at USC Medical Center. Suge has been in solitary confinement and has complained the conditions have compromised his health. He’s been in and out of the hospital while his trial drags on. (TMZ)
The hip-hop executive’s son Suge Jacob Knight recently updated fans on his condition.
Back in December, reports claimed Suge’s fatal hit-and-run trial had suffered a major setback.
The founder of Death Row Records plans to file his new bail motion in the coming weeks based on a subpoenaed check, new eyewitness testimony and continued health issues, his fiancée Toi-Lin Kelly told the Daily News. “We have a really great shot at our next bail hearing,” Kelly said as she left the courthouse in downtown Los Angeles with Knight’s parents and his sister. “Suge is really willing to go to trial tomorrow. That’s how much compelling evidence we have. We are very ambitious about moving forward to trial,” she said. (New York Daily News)
October reports claimed Suge believed music mogul Dr. Dre wanted him killed.
Suge says he had a lifetime management deal with Dre, which entitled him to a 30% cut of Dre’s entertainment earnings. When Beats came along, Suge alleges Dre tried to cut him out, in part because Apple — which bought Beats from Dre — didn’t want its brand associated with Suge. Dre’s solution, according to the lawsuit, was to hire a hitman to kill Suge at 1 OAK during the 2014 VMAs weekend. Suge was shot 7 times in the abdomen but recovered. (TMZ)
