[With “Money & Violence” season 2 officially launched on TIDAL, creator Moise Vernau speaks to SOHH about the importance of having creative control with Jay Z’s growing streaming empire.]

The great thing about me is I recognized the importance of balance. Too much of anything is actually not good at all. With me wanting control also came with me realizing I’m kind of new to this.

I’m new to the directing thing. I don’t really have any formal training whatsoever. Although I did want control, at the end of the day I still wanted a good [crew] on-set with me.

I wanted people to help me learn the technical side of the industry and learn lines. As much as I want creative control and not to sway away from the essence of what this show is, I still want it to progress.

So that was very important to me.
