Lil Wayne Responds To Rick Ross’ Birdman Diss “Idols Become Rivals”

Rick Ross has been speaking out on Birdman’s shady business relationship with Lil Wayne for some time now. Wayne appreciates his latest gesture.

Rick Ross‘ newest studio album Rather You Than Me drops on Friday and one of the most talked about songs before release is his song “Idols Become Rivals.”

On the song Ross raps about Birdman’s history of shady business practices with people ranging from Lil Wayne, Mannie Fresh and the entire Cash Money roster to DJ Khaled who has a long past with the label as well.

On the diss scale, it leans more towards J. Cole’s “False Prophets” than 2Pac’s “Hit ‘Em Up.” Especially since Ross tells Birdman “I still love” before laying into him.

Ross backed up the song with an Instagram post dedicated to Lil Wanye. In the post, he writes:

The Level of respect and Love that I have for WAYNE makes it hard to sit back and not speak on the situation. The streets need you.Being a Boss means having the courage to say the things everybody thinking but scared to say.I can’t wait for you to hear it.

Wayne responded with an equally heartfelt message saying:

dam big bro that msg hit me in the heart and put the motivation on automatik start. I needed that. 1 boss 2 another

Given Ross’ approach, do you think Birdman will see the error of his ways and go back and pay the people he owes?
