We’ve been speculating about it for over a year now, and the news is finally official: Gorillaz’ new album is called Humanz, and it’s coming out on April 28.
Gorillaz announced the title and date earlier today via a series of images on Instagram, all containing the caption #HUMANZ. The forthcoming LP marks the virtual band’s fifth album to date, following 2011’s The Fall.
Humanz will feature collaborations with Grace Jones, D.R.A.M., Vince Staples, Pusha T, Popcaaan, Jamie Principle, Kelela, Danny Brown, and more.
The band are expected to debut four new songs later today from the album: “Saturn’s Barz,” “Ascension,” “Andromeda” and “We Got The Power.” The selections follow the group’s first taste of new music in six years, the politically-charged “Hallelujah Money,” which arrived in January.
