Emails Prove Colin Kaepernick Was Not Invited To NFL Owner / Player Meetings

The evidence pointing to Colin Kaepernick being frozen out of the NFL continues to mount. His legal team has just released emails proving he was not invited to a recent NFL owner and player meetings.

According to an exclusive interview with Slate, Kaep’s counsel says the NFL’s and Player Coalition’s recent claims the unemployed quarterback was invited to an owner / player summit are false.

“We specifically reached out to the [NFL Players Association] and to the Players Coalition and we were verbatim told that Colin had no role,” detailed Kaepernick’s attorney Mark Geragos.

The Coalition, led by Philadelphia Eagles Safety Malcolm Jenkins, allegedly invited NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Houston Texans’ owner Bob McNair and Colin Kaepnernick to a private meeting to discuss the recent tensions within the league.

On October 17, Jenkins confirmed the former San Franscico 49er was indeed invited. But when asked by reporters post meeting why Colin did not attend Jenkins responded, “I can’t answer that question.” His attorneys have released emails that refute these claims.

In the first email Kaepernick’s lawyers reach out to the NFLPA saying he never received an invite to the sit-down.

In the following email NFLPA general counsel Tom DePaso confirms that the association did not have anything to do with the scheduling of the meeting and suggest reaching out to Jenkins directly.

The next correspondence shows Colin’s counsel contacting Jenkins asking him to retract his earlier statements and more information on the next meeting.

Earlier this month Kaepernick filed a formal grievance against the NFL stating they kept him out of the league as punishment for his protests. On October 17 Garagos appeared on Anderson Cooper 360 stating “we have a high degree of confidence that this will be able to be proved”.
