Apple Reducing Accuracy of Face ID Feature To Speed Up iPhone X Production?

The struggle seems very real for Apple’s version the of the Samsung Galaxy, the iPhone X. In order to get the phone to market on time, Apple has decided to allegedly reduce the accuracy of Face ID, basically pushing a watered-down version of the phone’s biggest feature.

Steve Jobs must be shaking his head from Apple Store in the sky.

The news of an impending iPhone X shortage is not new, the worlds most advanced smartphone was in trouble from the start. The issue Apple is facing is trying to get such an advanced phone mass produced and in the hands of rabid Apple consumers.

Folks are clearly waiting to get their hands on the X and apparent weak sales of the iPhone 8 show that.  In hopes of combating the issue, Apple’s solution to fix the problem was to quietly tell suppliers to reduce the accuracy of the facial recognition feature to make the phone easier to manufacture according to Bloomberg. Some analysts are predicting already that Apple will not be able to meet the initial demand.

Face ID

Apple spokeswoman, Trudy Miller has already called the report fake news.

Bloomberg’s claim that it reduced the accuracy spec for Face ID is completely false and we expect Face ID to be the new gold standard for facial authentication. The quality and accuracy of Face ID haven’t changed; it continues to be one in a million probability of a random person unlocking your iPhone with Face ID.

This news is without a doubt very troubling if true, we already reported on Samsung making a ton of money of the X just cause of the parts. This latest hiccup could possibly push customers to look at other smartphone options. Hey the Google Pixel 2 XL, or Samsung Galaxy Note 8 are pretty decent alternatives if you can’t get your hand on an iPhone X.

The phone will officially be available for pre-order October 27th, 12:01 PDT. With the news of iPhone X’s rumored struggle will you still be in the market for one?
